Affectionately called the "Goode House", this iconic heritage home, a rare find, is the second oldest building in Westmount. Located on 'The Old Côte Road' in a rural setting bridges the past and present. One of a kind, located on over 21,000 square feet of land with 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. Here is your opportunity to own a piece of historical Westmount.

Welcome to 178 Côte-Saint-Antoine Road, affectionately known as The Goode House.

This Category 1* historic home set on over 21,000sf of land offers a great opportunity for the next owner to create an oasis in the heart of the city.

Architectural plans have been prepared by Architem Group in collaboration with Westmount's Urban Planning Department and include the addition of a conservatory, a swimming pool, pool house, garage and accessory building. Kindly refer to Seller's Declaration for more details.

This unique house was part of what was known as the "Metcalfe Terrace", a row of four identical stone cottages, of which only two remain. Built in the mid-1840s by Moses Juday Hayes, a renowned engineer, farmer, theatre owner, magistrate, and police chief whose father emigrated from New York to Montreal in 1763. The house has been owned by three generations of the Goode family for close to 130 years.

Today the house retains its original form and Regency-style colonial architecture. It remains almost as it was when it was built 180 years ago.

The house offers a living area of over 2170 square feet on three-levels including the garden level walk-out basement.

Among its unique elements, we find a four-slope roof with a wide pavilion and a chimney in the centre. Its neoclassical architectural elements include the wooden corner pilasters, decorative window lintels, and the portico.

This house is looking for a new owner who will treasure its architectural heritage while bringing it forward to meet today's needs.
