“Splash & Dash is an event close to my heart. 15 years ago I received a call from Lorena Cook, a mutual Westmounter and ECS School mom. We were both young mothers, with young children, however our everyday lives were dramatically different. Lorena’s 8-year old daughter, Sarah was undergoing treatment for Ewing’s Sarcoma; primary a bone cancer that affects mainly children and adolescents.” explains Christina Miller. “Lorena was organising an event like no other to raise awareness and funds for the Montreal Children’s Hospital. Lorena brought together families, regardless of age, to participate in a sort of team mini-triathlon at the McGill University Sports Complex where teams swim and run in a relay. You splash…you dash…!”
“The Montreal community continues to “splash & dash” year after year to show their support for the children and their families battling cancer at The Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation. Over 200 teams come together at the McGill University Sports Complex to run and swim for a good cause.” explains Christina. “This year my family’s personal goal is to raise $20,000! At $10,000 we’re half way there! Please register your team and help support a cause that not only but helps raise funds for an important cause but also connects our community!
So, what is Splash & Dash?
Splash & Dash is an annual fundraising event in support of The Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation. The event supports vital programs and services to improve the lives of all patients in the hospital and young cancer patients and their families on Sarah’s Floor, at the Montreal Children’s Hospital.
So, what do you do at Splash & Dash?
Splash & Dash is a family-fun-filled day of Swim-Bike-Run races for adults, high school students and families. Teams with young children under the age of 8 years old can participate in a Run-Swim-Run relay. The event is open to everyone – no matter what your age or athletic ability.
So, you don’t splash or dash?
There’s plenty to do for participants and spectators alike before and after the race! The DJ gets you grooving while kids of all ages enjoy inflatable games, face-painting, and much more. Games, activities and healthy snacks are all offered for teams and spectators in the inner track at the Family Fun Expo.
So, where does the money go?
Since its inception in 2001, Splash & Dash has raised over $1.9 million to support the needs to the Hematology-Oncology division at The Montreal Children’s Hospital.
Sarah’s determination since the age of 8-years old to beat this life-threatening illness three times in her young life has inspired many people to help others who are facing the same struggle. It is an honor and a privilege for me to chair Splash & Dash
So, how do you register?
There are four registration categories for your team to choose from:

So, what’s the goal?
This year our goal is to raise $200,000 for vital programs and services improving the lives of young cancer patients and their families on Sarah’s Floor, the inpatient oncology ward at the Montreal Children’s Hospital.
